Cambria is radon and radiation free

Recently, there has been local and national news coverage about radon and radiation emitting from some granite countertops.  We want to reassure our customers that our pure natural quartz surfaces by Cambria have been tested and are indeed radon free. These tests have been performed by Air Quality Sciences, Inc. (AQS), an International Organization for Standard (ISO) 9001:2000 registered and ISO 17025 accredited Indoor Air Quality Company.

Cambria does not off-gas and has no emissions of any sort at all!  Cambria is comprised of pure natural quartz – it is hard, durable, extremely dense, nonporous and nonabsorbent.  Absolutely no chemical sealants or petroleum-based protectants of any sort are needed or used to protect our quartz surfaces.

Cambria is certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute under the GREENGUARD Standard for Low Emitting Materials, which means Cambria does not off-gas and contains zero formaldehyde or volatile organic compounds (VOCs).  Cambria surfaces are GREENGUARD for Children and Schools® certified and GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®.  Cambria Natural Quartz Surfaces™ may help projects achieve LEED points towards certification in the Indoor Environmental Quality category and/or the Materials and Resources category of various United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Green Building Rating Systems.

Cambria is also certified by NSF International as safe for use as a food preparation surface – there is no safer surface available to consumers.  From extensive product testing and material analyses to unannounced plant inspections, NSF International is the only third-party testing organization to undertake a complete evaluation of every aspect of a product’s development before it can earn NSF International certification.
